Iznájar
Iznajar you probably know by now is a traditional Spanish hillside Pueblo Blanco. The remains of a Moorish castle and the main church are at the top of the hill, and from there you’ll find stunning views of the lake and surrounding area.
The biggest attraction here is of course the lake, the largest reservoir in Andalucia. The tranquil beach lacks the crowds of the Costa del Sol but has beautiful views, two beachfront restaurants and kayaks available to rent.
The locals are very friendly and will try to help you if you need any directions and assistance, probably without you even asking for it! English isn’t spoken as widely here as in other parts of Southern Spain, although a lot of younger people can speak at least little. Many restaurants or bars serving food have English translations on their menus. There is a tourist information office near the castle - it’s well signposted.
